KRIS

Armed with only his guitar Kris is the new man on the acoustic scene no longer with his band Attic but instead with his debut solo album, songs from the north. Kris reveals all with LEAD.

“I DID
   WHAT
 I HAD
     TO DO”
Kris, formerly the front man for the nations favourite northern boys, Attic, he’s given up his position to start his solo career….so what went wrong? Or right? At LEAD we’ve been able to get up close and personal with the man in an exclusive one on one interview. Kris, what was it that made you decide that Attic wasn’t where you wanted to be?
“Well we ran dry out of new material and I just couldn’t see it going anywhere. We’re all still mates so its not changed massively and who knows what’s on the cards, for all I or anyone knows we could end up getting back together it just doesn’t look likely at the moment.”
Will you not miss the band?
“Yeah of course we’ve been together since we were at school so it’s been tough, but it had to happen I’m sure we’ll stay in touch and they’ll go on to do bigger things, but like I said who knows what the future holds.”

What can we expect to see from this album? Is it your more emotional side? Or just some kick ass acoustic songs?
“Well I’m hoping that now being away from the band I can really put my own thoughts and feelings into my music, whereas before there’s three other guys to consider when writing, so it was harder. But answering the question directly I would love to mix the two and make kick ass emotional songs”.
Will you be touring? and if so when?
Well i’ll definately tour England although im not too sure when yet. What im really hoping to do in this coming year is tour America I wouldn’t be expecting to smash it but I have no doubt it would be alot of fun.
Finally, do you think you’ll play many
festivals this year?
Yes! I love playing festivals they’re completely different to what I had  ever played before and brilliant ways to promote yourself. I’m not aloud to tell you were im headlining yet but I can say that I should be at most festivals
Kris Leonard, Songs From The North,

Written Plans For Magazine Pages

Cover page - I want the cover image to be on a wall as that is the background I would like for my magazine and I would like the picture to be rebelious so that it appeals to the target audience. I also want big taglines that are easy to read and bright competition taglines that are attention grabbing.

Contents page - There will be the main article on one side with a matching picture of the artist and on the other side a list of bands, events and competitions. The layout will be modern and different to the usual

Double page spread - The subject will be that the artist has left the band to persue a solo career and where we can expect to see him peforming, the writing will go on a brick wall background with Kris to the left or right so that text can be fit in around it.
